How do you deal with audition rejection? Do you think it is something you did or did not do properly? Perhaps you thought you didn't prepare enough. At other times you thought that you did a great job but you didn't get the call back. You probably ask yourself, why? You have all you need, your essence. Sexy, quiet, intense, secure, nurturing, frivolous are several of the essences that make up a character.

This image is what a casting director is looking for. Many actors walk in exuding one of these qualities and have a better chance at booking the role. If you already have part of what they are looking, chances are you might get a call-back. If it's not part of your personality makeup, you may not get called back or cast in the role. This doesn't mean you're not a good actor, or that you didn't audition well, it simply means that they were probably looking for a different type of person, a different essence.

This image workshop is geared to help actors learn how the public perceives them and the significance this has on their auditions. Your image, your essence is what you can bring to an audition when this is what the casting director is looking for in a character they are casting.

  • This workshop starts with the entire group reviewing your current headshot against your personal essence.
  • We then begin to work on the new images and phrases that you will use to market help yourself.
  • You will learn how to inject your essence into the character that you are auditioning for.
  • This workshop assists you in seeing yourself in new ways and rid yourself of old blocks.
  • With your new outlook, image and list of essences you will be able to aid managers and agents when pitching you to casting directors.
  • We will pretend to be casting a project and you'll see first hand why some headshots don't work and how actors misrepresent themselves.
  • We will discuss valuable techniques that you can apply at your next headshot session, to ensure the photographer brings out the image that you need to portray.

After taking this workshop many actor's will want to change their headshot's. Their new ones will be done with their essences in mind. They will be able to work more openly with their agents and managers. And, have a better understanding as to why they did or did not get the role.
